In China, traveling by train is rather popular than by airplane, especially when your trip is long.Rail transport is the most commonly used mode of long-distance transportation in China.It has already had the history for more than 100 years up to the present.Some cities have large railway stations,such as beijing,shanghai,chengdu,ect.The passenger trains are always designated into different classes according to the speed to meet different people's needs, and these different classes of trains have varied train numbers.
China is the first and only country to have commercial high-speed train service on conventional rail lines that can reach a top operational speed of 350 km/h at moment.It is easily the best way of getting around China where available. The trains are clean, comfortable and modern. Notable examples of high-speed train service include the Wuhan–Guangzhou High-Speed Railway and Shanghai-Hangzhou High-Speed Railway.The Wuhan-Guangzhou railway line runs through the whole Hunan Province, with its length within Hunan longer than that of Hubei and Guangdong provinces (Canton). And Shanghai-Hangzhou High-Speed Railway will be greatly helpful for Travelers to come and go among Shanghai, Nanjing, Hangzhou and other cities in the east China.
D Train refers to the trains for "China Railway High-speed (CRH)" in English, and is a type of modern bullet train. At present, this type of train is one of the most modern, popular and advanced train in China. The "D Train" of this kind is likened to "Multiple Unit"(MU) in English. It can reach 200-350km/h. Mostly they cover short distances,such as Beijing-Harbin,Beijing-Tianjin, Shenzhen-Guangzhou (Canton),etc,. however there are some long lines available,such as Beijing-Shanghai. It usually offers First class and Second class seats. Clean and comfortable, the interior of these trains are quite different from the other types of train, with all seats facing the same way. There is also a screen which displays how fast the train is travelling.
Besides above CRH, there are many conventional trains around China which connected many rural or developping cities or towns. Long, arduous, luxurious, with plenty of magnificent sceneries and mysterious animals along the way – these are just some of the terms which can be used to describe the classic train journeys that everyone should take at least once in lifetime. That is----Qingzang Railway, "the Roof of the World".The total length is 1956 km.This railway link Lhasa, the Tibet Autonomous Region, and Xining of Ningxia Autonomous Region. This railway, due to its altitude and terrain, is the last province-level entity in mainland China to have a conventional railway. The line includes the Tanggula Pass, which, at 5,072 m (16,640 feet) above sea level, is the world's highest rail track. The 1,338 m Fenghuoshan tunnel is the highest rail tunnel in the world at 4,905 m above sea level. The 4,010-m Guanjiao tunnel is the longest tunnel from Xining to Golmod and the 3,345-m Yangbajing tunnel is the longest tunnel from Golmod to Lhasa.
