Day 01 Arrive in Kunming
Kunming, which is situated in central Yunnan and north of the Dianchi Basin, is skirted on three sides by mountains, with one side opening onto the Dianchi Lake. The city is nicknamed "City of Spring" due to the fact that it is covered all the year round with the rich verdure of trees and plants. Endowed with a pleasant climate, the city's 15,000 square kilometers of land is adorned with more than 400 kinds of flowers.
Day 02 Kunming
The World Horti-Expo Garden is the site of the 1999 Kunming International Horticulture Exposition. It is a first class garden with typical Chinese and Yunnan characteristics. Here you can see a grand exhibition of horticulture from everywhere in the world. It is situated in the northern suburbs of Kunming, 6 km from downtown, next to the Golden Temple scenic spot. It sits at an elevation of 1,920-2,010 meters above sea level, with 218 hectares in area, 2.5 km in length, and 1.1 km in width. The theme of this exposition is "Man and Nature, marching into the 21st century."
The Dragon Gate on Xishan/West Hill: Located 1.5km west of the Kunming, the Dragon Gate in Western Hill is close to the Dianchi Lake. This group of grottoes, sculptures, corridors and pavilions were hacked from the cliff between 1781 and 1835 by a Taoist monk and his co-workers.
Green Lake Park: Located just opposite the Kunming University, it is one of the most picturesque parks in downtown Kunming. There are nine spring outlets at north of the lake, so it was also named "Nine Dragon Pond" in ancient tomes. Here you may take a leisure walk or enjoy the performance by local people. In November and December every winter, huge flock of red-beaked gulls migrates here from Siberia, constructing a nice scene.
Day 03 Kunming - - Sanya
Yuantong Temple: With a history of over 1,200 years, it is the largest temple in Kunming. In 1956, the grand ceremony of greeting and consecrating the Buddha's tooth was held in it. It was in the list among the key Buddhist temples in China issued by the State Council.
Sanya is a noted tourist resort with mountains, sea, river and city. The favorable climate is hot in summer but warm in the three other seasons so attracting large numbers of followers from both home and abroad every year. The whole of Sanya is related to the sea. Here you can enjoy a unique tropical oceanic landscape that is totally different from the other provinces of China. Sanya Bay, Yalong Bay and Dadonghai, all golden seaboards of Sanya, are some of the first choices for visitors to spend their holidays. Instead of a busy and exhausting journey, you can relax totally here by strolling along the beaches and breathing the fresh air. If you are an enthusiast of exciting water activities, Wuzhizhou Island is your place to challenge the mysterious and changing sea. Additionally more than 20 ethnic groups including Han, Li, Miao, Hui inhabit Sanya becoming a wonderful place to appreciate the various cultures of China.
Day 04 Sanya
After breakfast the tour guide will lead you to Yalong Bay and enjoy the sunshine on the best beach. Then you will drive to Li and Miao Minority Village, which are the two minorities living on Hainan Island. Many representative cultural objects related to Li and Miao minorities were put together in this village to give people an understanding of their life style. In the afternoon, your guide will lead you to Xinglong tropic arboretum. It is located in the Xinglong Hot Spring Scenic Area. Xinglong Tropical Botanical Garden is a bright pearl of sceneries explored by Hainan tourism. It enjoys a worldwide fame for its unique and abundant tropical plants.
