Day 01  Arrive in Chengdu

Activities: Arrive in Chengdu. Be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel. Free at leisure for the rest of the day.

Day 02  Chengdu

Activities: Today you will visit Giant Panda Breeding and Research Center, Wuhou Memorial Temple and Jinli Old Street.

Activities: Today you will arrive in Dujiangyan to visit the famous irrigation system.

Day 04  Chengdu -  - Jiuzhaigou

Activities: Fly to Jiuzhaigou in the morning. Then you will be driven to Mounigou Scenic Area & Songpan. After that, you will be driven to Jiuzhaigou and check in a hotel for rest.

Day 05  Jiuzhaigou

Activities: After finishing breakfast, your guide will take you to Jiuzhaigou, and once you have entered the park, you will board the bus and visit several scenic spots: Pearl Sands, Rhinoceros Lake, 5 Color Lake, Shuzheng Waterfall and several others.

Day 06  Jiuzhaigou

Activities: Drive to Huanglong and visit Huanglong Valley. After that, drive back to Jiuzhaigou.

Activities: After finishing breakfast, you will be driven to the airport and fly back to Chengdu. Then transfer you to the airport in Chengdu for your next destination.

Day 01  Arrive in Chengdu

Chengdu, the capital city of Sichuan Province, was founded in 3rd century BC, when the Qin conquered all of China within two centuries. Chengdu flourished in the Han Dynasty and picked up its name of brocade city as it grew rich from the thriving silk brocade industry. Also known as the land of abundance, Chengdu boasts its pleasant climate and plentiful products. Major corporation such as Lenovo, Intel and Miscrosoft have opened offices in Chengdu's Hi-Tech Development Zone.

Day 02  Chengdu

Giant Panda Breeding and Research Center: Located about 25km out of Chengdu City. This huge institution replicates the natural habitat of the giant panda and is dedicated to preserving and increasing their population so they will not become extinct. You are able to get real close-up to some pandas and photograph them as well as the so-called lesser red pandas which really look and act like raccoons. One of the biggest attractions is the panda-breeding center where you can watch the baby pandas through glass in their playpens. You are not allowed to photograph the baby pandas, as the flash can hurt their eyes. Another highlight is the video you watch about the reserve and panda reproduction and learn how a panda gives birth to a baby cub. The baby just slides out and at the first time mothers do not know what it is, so it is common for them to accidentally kill the baby as they swat it around if the researchers can not help out in time. In all, it is nice to see all in the panda-breeding center.
Wuhou Memorial Temple: A very beautiful spot. It has a great garden and very graceful. It is special because it is a temple for honoring of an Emperor and his Minister at the same time. In Chinese history, there is strict grading between Emperor and minister, who are not supposed to set together. Moreover, you find a nice teahouse in the temple and have a cup of tea to relaxing and watching the locals chatting, playing MaJiang and Chinese poker. The Sichuan teahouses really have a unique atmosphere. You see many old people, who seem to spend the whole day there, some Western tourists, Chinese families and even sometimes-young people meeting up with friends. It is always very nice and interesting to watch the people having a good time and enjoying themselves.
Jinli Old Street: Once the commercial heart of the old kingdoms this ancient street has been fully restored in traditional Sichuan style. Picturesque, bustling, and cheerful, you can sample local arts and craft, traditional Chinese goods, food and delicacies, and even a Starbucks, local style.

Day 03  Chengdu

Dujiangyan Irrigation Project is honored as the 'Treasure of Sichuan', which plays a crucial role in draining off floodwater, irrigating farms and providing water resources. Dujiangyan is the oldest and only surviving no-dam irrigation system in the world; and a wonder in the development of Chinese science. The project consists of three important parts, namely Yuzui, Feishayan and Baopingkou scientifically designed to automatically control the water flow of the rivers from the mountains to the plains throughout the year.

Day 04  Chengdu -  - Jiuzhaigou

Mounigou, located to the west of Songpan Ancient Town, occupies an area of 160 square kilometers (62 square miles). It has an elevation between 2,800 meters (9,186 feet) to 4,070 meters (13,353 feet) with an annual average temperature of 7C (44.6F). It belongs to the western part of Huanglong Scenic and Historic Interest Area. Consists of two big scenic spots: the Zhaga Waterfall and the Erdaohai Lake. After ten years of development, this unknown valley has now been listed as the World Biosphere Reserve, World Natural Heritage as well as the Green Globe 21 of UN. In the vast primitive forest waterfalls running and roaring, mountain lakes tranquil and serene, hot springs steaming, monntain flowers blooming and birds chirping, all present a scene of the celestial land.

Day 05  Jiuzhaigou

Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area lies in Nanping County, northern Sichuan Province in the southern part of the Minshan range on the edge of the Tibetan plateau. Stretching over 72,000 square kilometers in the northern part of Sichuan Province, the jagged Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area reaches a height of more than 4,800 meters, thus comprising a series of diverse forest ecosystems. It is listed as a World Heritage site by UNESCO in 1992.
Its name "Jiuzhaigou" is due to the existence of nine stockaded villages of Tibetan origin, and it is always regarded as a holy mountain and watercourse by the Tibetan people.
Ancient Chinese legend has it that the goddess accidentally broke her mirror here and the pieces which fell down the mountain formed beautiful lakes, streams and waterfalls. The scenery here is extremely beautiful. The scenic spot actually consists of three major gullies, which formerly was the site of nine stockaded villages of Tibetans.
Once you enter the park, you will board on the bus and visit several scenic spots: Pearl Sands, Rhinoceros Lake, 5 Color Lake, Shuzheng Waterfall and several others. You will also visit a local Tibetan Culture Show in the evening.
This park is about the scenery, scenery that takes your breath away, scenery that begins with the flight over dramatic snow-capped mountains, forested canyons, rivers, and lakes to land at Jiuzhaigou. The sides of the valleys are covered in dense vegetation. A wide variety of plants and animals, many of which are endangered, and protected within the Park. Well over 2,500 different plants been catalogued to date, including a lot of conifers, rhododendrons, ferns, fungi, aquatic plants and many beautiful orchids and other flowering plants.
The wildlife here is shy, but the range is equally impressive, including 27 protected rare and endangered species like the giant panda, golden monkey, gnu, white-lip deer, black-neck crane, swan, lovebirds, red-belly golden pheasant, snow leopard, forest musk deer, and otters.

Day 06  Jiuzhaigou

Huanglong Valley: The Huanglong Scenic and Historic Interest Area is located in Songpan County, in the northwest part of Sichuan Province and encompasses the Huanglong and Muni Valley. Huanglong's major scenery is concentrated in the 3.6-kilometer (2.2 miles) long Huanglong Valley that includes snow-clad peaks and the easternmost glaciers in China. Due to its layered calcium carbonated deposit patterns, the valley resembles a golden dragon winding its way through the virgin forest, stone mountains and glaciers. Along the valley are scattering numerous colorful ponds of different sizes and shapes, which are strewn with gold colored limestone deposit giving a shimmering golden hue to water, so in sunlight, a golden dragon seems to surge forth from the forest. Thus it was named 'Huanglong Valley' (Yellow Dragon Valley).

Day 07  Jiuzhaigou -  - Chengdu - Departure
