6 Days China Private Tour of Beijing and Shanghai

Day 01  Arrive in Beijing

Activities: Arrive in Beijing airport. Be picked by private vehicle and English speaking tour guide. Be transferred to hotel. Have a short rest in hotel. Drive to visit Temple of Heaven. Be transferred back to hotel. Remainder of the day is at free. At the end of the day, you will be transferred back to your hotel.

Day 02  Beijing

Activities: Be picked up from hotel at 08:30 am. And then you will experience the whole day excursion of Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, Summer Palace and Acrobatic Show. At the end of the day, you will be transferred back to your hotel.

Day 03 Beijing

Activities: Be picked up from hotel at 08:30 am. And you will discover Ming Tombs, Sacred Way and Badaling Great Wall. Be transferred back to your hotel after the whole day tour.

Day 04  Beijing -  - Shanghai

Activities: Be picked up from hotel at 08:30 am. And you will have a Hutong Tour in Beijing. Then be transferred to Beijing Hutong -ancient city alley in Beijing. Be transferred to airport to connect flight to Shanghai. Shanghai tour guide will meet you in Shanghai airport. Transfer to your hotel.

Day 05  Shanghai

Activities: Pick up from your hotel. Then you will visit Oriental Pearl TV Tower -the world's third tallest TV and radio tower, which combines ancient concepts with 21st Century technology. And then go to discover Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Hall. Then we will visit Nanjing Road and the Bund -famous waterfront with art-like buildings in China, the symbol of Shanghai for hundreds of years. Have a short Cruise on Huangpu River. At the end of the day, you will be transferred back to your hotel.

Day 06  Depart from Shanghai

Activities: Be picked up from your hotel. Visit Yu Garden -one of the best Suzhou-style gardens in southern China. Then we will visit city tour to visit Shanghai Museum - known as the Museum of Ancient Chinese Art, where you will find more than 120,000 precious and rare works of art. Be transferred to airport to connect flight.

Day 01  Arrive in Beijing

Temple of Heaven: The Temple of Heaven is a large park and temple complex situated in more or less the south central area of Beijing. Its center piece is a large tower built, it is said, entirely of wood and not using a single nail. It is said that the main features of the park are its trees and inhabitants. The park is filled with more than a thousand species of tree, some of which are hundreds of years old, despite their relatively small size. One thing you could notice here is that most of the architecture here. The park also attracts local residents by the thousand each day, which come to practice singing, martial arts, Peking opera, chess, dancing, and calligraphy. Of course, this can be said of many parks in Beijing, but the Temple of Heaven attracts more than its fair share.

Day 02  Beijing

Today you will experience the whole day excursion of Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, Summer Palace and Acrobatic Show.
Visit Tiananmen Square -the biggest downtown Square of the world. Walk around on Tiananmen Square.
Then we will enter the Forbidden City from the north end of Tiananmen Square. Forbidden City also called Palace Museum and is located at the center of Beijing. It was the imperial palace during the Ming and Qing dynasties. Rectangular in shape, Forbidden City is the world's largest palace complex. Take sightseeing in Forbidden City along the central axis for 1.5 to 2 hours.
Then we will drive to Summer palace - 20 kilometers northwest of downtown Beijing. Summer Palace is the largest imperial garden of Ming and Qing dynasty. The whole Summer Palace covers an area of over 290 hectares including more than 3,000 buildings, such as halls, pavilions, towers, etc. Take sightseeing for 1 to 1.5 hours. Have dinner in a restaurant with Beijing local favor.
Acrobatics: Acrobatics is an interactive art form. Whether you are old or young, educated or illiterate, you can appreciate it as long as you can see. There is no language barrier and cultural border. When you watch a Chinese acrobatics, you are strongly impacted both mentally and physically. It is truly and unforgettable experience. It is no doubt that Shanghai is the best place to enjoy a perfect Chinese acrobatic show. The Acrobatics at Shanghai are not to be missed. They are held each night and last for about 2 hours. An acrobatic show has become one of the most popular evening entertainments for tourists in Shanghai. You can enjoy gravity-defying contortionism, juggling, unicycling, chair-stacking, and plate-spinning acts at the following stages.

Day 03 Shanghai

Today you will discover Ming Tombs, Sacred Way and Badaling Great Wall.
Drive one and half hours to the Ming Tombs. Located 60 Kilometers north of Beijing, Ming Tombs consist of mausoleums of 13 Ming emperors. Changling is the most famous one. Construction of the Changling was started in 1409 and completed in 1427. Visit the tomb for one hour. Move on to visit the Sacred Way for half an hour.
Move on to the famous Badaling Great Wall -the most famous section of Great Wall, well maintained. It is easy to walk along this section of defensive project of ancient China. Take sightseeing on Badaling Great Wall for about 2 hours. Cable car is arranged to get the top to have a bird view of the wall. Drive back to Beijing city to have Beijing Roast Duck for Dinner.

Day 04  Beijing -  - Shanghai

Beijing Hutong-ancient city alley in Beijing. Many of them were built during the Yuan (1206-1341), Ming (1368-1628) and Qing (1644-1908) dynasties surrounding the Forbidden City. Take rickshaw to visit the ancient Beijing Hutong including Drum tower, Local family, Shicha Lake, Kindergarten and Bar Street.

Day 05  Shanghai

Today you will experience Oriental Pearl TV Tower, Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Hall, Nanjing Road, the Bund and Huangpu River Cruise
TV Tower of Oriental Pearl: The Oriental Pearl TV Tower has become one of the modern symbols of Shanghai. The 468 meter tall tower is the tallest in Asia and the third tallest TV tower in the world. The bird's eye view from its observation platform is breathtaking, especially at night, when the nearby Bund is lit up. With a unique design composed of balls and columns, the tower has become Shanghai's newest landmark and a big magnet for tourists. The designers magically set the eleven beautiful spheres of various sizes up from the green grassland to the blue sky with two giant spheres shining like two rubies. The whole design is rich in poetic and pictorial splendor, which gives the tourist the impression that pearls of various sizes are dropping onto the emerald plate.
Urban Planning Exhibition Hall: It tells how Shanghai grows into a metropolis, explaining her foundation, development and future in 2-3 hours.
Nanjing Road: It is one of the landmarks of Shanghai. Most people say that if you have never been to the Nanjing Street, it is equal that you have never been to Shanghai. If you can get up early in the morning, you must be attracted by the Nanjing Street. At that time, the shops and restaurants are closed, but the street is quite busy. People are doing all kinds of things. Some are dancing, some are doing shadowboxing, some are playing sliding board, etc. It is just like a park, which has an outstanding compare with the street on flourishing day.
The Bund: The Bund is the long corridor of Shanghai. For more than 100 years, it has been the symbol of Shanghai. Shanghai people are proud of the Bund. It shows the culture of Shanghai and the creation of modern civilization to people. The architecture along the Bund is unanimously honored as a "World Architectural Fair", including all kinds of tall buildings like the Gothic style, the Baroque style, the Roman style, the classical style, the Renaissance style and the combination of Chinese and Western style. Generally speaking, the beauty of a city should contain three elements: architectures, sculptures, and evanescence. Of the three elements, sculptures are also called the eyes of a city. It is an important part for a city's beauty.
Huangpu River cruise: The Huangpu River is the symbol and embodiment of Shanghai, just like the Thames of London, the Seine of Paris and the Danube of Budapest. This river is synonymous with the History of Shanghai, being inextricably intertwined with the social and economic life of the city and having nurtured its prosperity and witnessed its honors and disgraces. The Huangpu River is a must for travelers to Shanghai. Huangpu River, mother river of Shanghai, is a branch of the lower reaches of the Yangtze River. It is an average of 400 meters wide and 9 meters deep. The Huangpu River is not only the mother river of Shanghai, but also assembles the splendid tourist attractions of the city.

Day 06  Depart from Shanghai

Yuyuan Garden: Yu Garden: It is a renowned traditional landscape garden in Jiangnan. It is also a historical site and tourist attraction famous at home and abroad. It was built by a man named Pan during the Ming Dynasty. It was changed and rebuilt for hundreds of years by different descendents of the original builder. The garden is a virtual maze of caves, gardens, rockeries, paths, bridges, and buildings. Even though many people have had a hand in rebuilding the garden over the centuries, it is seamlessly blended. Every corner you turn has a new surprise, and a total different view.
Shanghai Museum: As a museum of ancient Chinese art, Shanghai Museum possesses a collection of 120,000 precious works of art. The museum style and presentation surround visitors with artifacts demonstrating ancient wisdom and philosophy. The exterior design of the round dome and the square base symbolizes the ancient idea of a round heaven and a square land. Its rich and high-quality collection of ancient Chinese bronze, ceramics, painting and calligraphy is specially celebrated in the world. The museum is divided into eleven galleries and three exhibition halls. The eleven Galleries cover most of the major categories of Chinese art: Ancient Bronze, Ancient Ceramics, Paintings, Calligraphy, Ancient Sculpture, Ancient Jade, Coins, Ming and Qing Furniture, Seals, and Minority Nationalities.
