Overview
Splendid China is a comprehensive miniature park located in Shenzhen, People's Republic of China. The park's theme reflects the history, culture, art, ancient architecture, customs and habits of various nationalities. It is one of the world's largest parks in the number of scenarios reproduced there. 

Location
Splendid China is located in the Nanshan District, Shen Nan Avenue. It is situated by the Shenzhen Bay in a tourist area of Overseas Chinese Town (OCT) in the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone. It is a 35-40 minute train ride from Luohu Station of Shenzhen metro line 1 or 30 minutes by bus (bus number 101 or mini-bus 23 are two examples).  The Chinese Folk Culture Village is adjacent to the theme park.

History
Splendid China Development Co., Ltd was established in 1988.  As a joint-venture tourism enterprise between Hong Kong and Mainland China overseas travel groups, the Splendid China Theme Park is a well-known theme park of beautiful miniature scenic spots in China. Since its opening this theme park has become a world-class scenic spot showcasing Chinese culture, history and scenery, as well as making a significant contribution to the development of the tourist industry of China. 

Attractions
Over 100 major tourist attractions have been miniaturized and laid out according to the map of China. Most attractions have been reduced on a scale of 1:15. It is divided into Scenic Spot Area and Comprehensive Service Area. The entire park covers 30 hectares.  Some of the areas of China miniaturized in this park include The Great Wall and the Forbidden City of Beijing, the Terracotta Warrior Statues of Xian, the Three Gorges Dam on the Yangtze, the Li River scenery of Guilin, the Potala Palace of Tibet, the West Lake of Hangzhou, the Mogao Caves of Dunhuang and Mt Huangshan of Anhui Province, and many more.

There are cars and trains to transport visitors around the park, making it possible to visit all these attractions easily, and within one day if desired.
 
The park also hosts several shows depicting various events in Chinese History (e.g. a horse riding show depicting a battle led by Genghis Khan), Chinese Cultural Show, etc. Some of the shows are only performed on weekends.
