Location
Nanchang is the capital of Jiangxi Province in southeastern China. Nanchang is famous for its scenic lakes, mountains, rich history and cultural sites. Nanchang is located 60 km south of the Yangtze River and is situated on the right bank of the Gan River just below its confluence with the Jin River and some 40 km south of its discharge into Poyang Lake.
History
Over 5,000 years ago, ancestors of present-day residents used flint implements to exploit this rich land. The town was first built in 200 BC. In the fifth year of the reign of the Han Emperor, Gaozu (202 BC), Yuzhang Jun (Jun was an ancient administrative division equal to a present-day prefecture) was set up, which governed a county named Nanchang, meant "large prosperous South Sinkiang". The numerous changes of Nanchang city are revitalized, the concrete number of the city is apt, a great deal of another names, Chinese claim "Yuzhang" among them, Sui and Tang dynasties claim "big continent", Song claim "grand to revitalize", name "Nanchang" in Ming Dynasty. Northern Expeditionary Army began to set up the city after capturing Nanchang in 1926. Will it be August 1 in 1927, Zhouenlai, Zhude, Helong, Yeting, Liu BoCheng, etc. are lead and command the armed uprising of the world of shaking here, Nanchang becomes the birthplace of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, praised as "the heroic city". It is "place that the army flag rises". Nanchang liberate on May 22, 1949. Since 1949 Nanchang has been extensively industrialized. Nanchang then became a center of the automotive industry, producing trucks and tractors and also such equipment as tires.
